There is only one announcement that BRM needs to extract itself from the mire, and I don't believe that DFS will be it.
Rail is what is needed, and as long as we have the political impasse I cannot see any further progression here.
We have a ridiculous situation where a "coin toss" outcome will decide the fate of the mining tax and no investor will come within cooee of Australia as long as this uncertainty prevails.
We've effectively taken an uncertain environment and made it even less certain.
Even if one side manages to cobble together some sort of "band-aid" government I cannot see that this will provide the kind of certainty needed to invest billions of dollars into long-term projects.
My hope is that after an inevitable period of instability we will have another election, possibly before the end of the year. Let's hope a taste of the Greens running the country and the independents selling their souls is enough for a few to change their votes.
