I guess the major issue with gas is the infrastructure cost of converting it to LNG in order to ship it to end market. Alternatively the gas could be sold domestically to nearby African markets whereby the gas would be pipelined directly to the domestic gas grid - not sure Kenya is set up for this.
There is definitely a value to the find. We won't know what the value is until other blocks have been explored and other commercial finds made. They could then conceivably toll the gas into the commercial find infrastructure. It is just possible the FAR block L6 will be highly commercial and the L8 block gas is tolled in directly.
