''All the colonists are dead
They died 2 centuries ago''
are they? ------- well, you don't get out much and you sure don't know the Australia you live in.
There's still the old way culture in many areas of Oz society - medicine, nursing, business, government
do you need reminding that the Union jack still is stuck in the top left of our flag.
And there's some in our face examples - when John Avery wanted to do something about cleaning up the NSW police force - he turned to an English policeman ---
now, that wasn't a bad move - but, what it showed was that there was still the remnants at least of an old country umbilical attached.
So too when a large (I think it was a multi combination) vehicle - a wheat truck from memory - came hurtling down a monster hill in Perth WA - not too many years back -
the WA premier brought in an English transport expert - imagine that - thinking that some expert in English lorries would be an expert on road conditions for multi combination vehicles in Oz - in the most remote city on earth in totally different conditions to Enland
what it displayed was that umbilical again - we are still attached.
want more? ----- it was the Queens representative who dissolved a democratically elected Australian government leader in 1975 and installed a temporary Prime Minister
colonists and their blood are very very much alive
