This is exactly my recollection. But I also seem to "think" that CN said that they were aware of offers at a higher number. Would make sense to me since any potential buyer would have entered a Data Room and be known to all parties. But at my age with fading eyesight, hearing and stamina, who knows if I heard anything correct. Anyhow the outcome is the same. FAR had no intention to PE if the numbers reflected the market value. I also think that is why FAR was caught of balance when WPL made the announcement.
One thing I like about FAR. They keep their cards close to their chest and stick to announcements in the affirmative only. Has a lot more credibility. And by the way, this is how the Senegalese Government also plays.
