It is pretty obvious that on this Forum you are not likely to be heard.
Will WPL succeed? With a bit of luck yes. By the same argument they may be stuck and pay for the lot in the next two years. Of course they would not go under, but they will bleed and this Forum will have the opportunity to attack.
Personally I think that the Oil Industry will struggle to return to its heydays. There are a lot of reserves around, (Iran, Venezuela, Libya coming back on stream, etc). And SNE has 140 000 bod is not exactly a major player and will sell the oil locally and the surrounding areas only. They also need infrastructure.So its quite a long shot in the current environment.
Also when you consider the previously good relationship between the Government of Senegal, FAR & CNE, one gets the feeling that there are sovereignty issues to be considered. They obviously let them walk without hesitation and with a loss.
One needs to have some comfort before taking risks.
Lets see if FAR can achieve a SP where at least the most recent CP can walk away without a loss. Of course what will the big boys do?
