Ocean Rig Athena is a known quantity to COP......Diamond drilling ??? Black Rhino???
Accountants may disagree with me but being in the industry where accountants are slashing costs.......putting off experienced men for cheaper local labour etc ......cheap does not always work.....most times it doesn't.
I think we are paying fair price under current market conditions........at the end of the day everyone has to make a dollar out of this ....drilling company included. To squeeze the cost to a point where it is not profitable for them results in short cuts being taken and accidents happening......remember the Deepwater Horizon in the GOM ????
Take the time ....do it right and be realistic / fair to all parties.......Reminds me of how FAR management is operating.......very thorough and professional.
