If I wanted to try to understand FAR all over again I would follow the advice already given by Hot and start with the company announcements. If there was anything in there that I didn't understand I would Google for meanings.
The company is the source for credible and balanced information because they are governed by reasonably strict laws so it is most likely to be factual.
I wouldn't use HC for too much advice, rather for opinion. there are some great posters on here but there are also lots of other posters who loose a grip on the big picture and get all wound up on tangents and small details. It could get quite confusing if you listened to every voice on hot copper.
That said it would be great to have a genuine slightly green newbie on here as I am sure many of us would like to see how you manage to unpack your research.
If I was you I would hang on to those shares, I think that would be what your sister was also thinking.
