Great to see what is being posted here. Unlike what I have just read on the GBG thread.
An outstanding person who has contriburted in no small way to what has occurred with both GBG and about to occur with SDL.
George may well be indicating "retirement", however this is not a man who retires. I dare say if there is to be any Chinese involvement with SDL George may very well still be a part of the talks in an advisory capacity. He remains a significant shareholder of GBG and has a very big vested interest in the success of SDL. I am only speculating on this but I know him well enough that rose pruning is not his idea of "retirement".
He bows out though as he would have wanted, highly successful, after having come from a very poor background and being brought up in an orphanage. From there to a mechanic in the Army in Vietnam to heading up ANZ corporate banking to now. An inspiration to anyone who cares to look at his life and a person I admire greatly.
