    Thanks for all the replies, especially robocop.

    I'm definately thinking Australia for buying a farm (i think technically its the only place i can buy). So im hoping we dont turn into Uganda or Zimbabwe.

    I was thinking in terms of nutrient recycling, and growing stuff which has low/er requirements for input nutrients, i.e legumes then you save a bit of nitrogen, fruits as they are largely carbohydrates which is all dragged from the air, trees, same deal. But yes inputs will be inevitable if produce is to leave the farm.

    In terms of security, camera systems are getting easier to set up, but obviously if you are big then this is out of the question, but to be big you need money so thats a self solving problem for me.

    I have thought about the lonelyness (is that how you spell it?) and yes that would be an issue on a bigger farm further away from a community center.

    Its all just pondering at the moment.
