Thanks everyone for your thoughts and answers to my intial question. I have found this site to be an enormous help and agree with those that most people are very helpful and as with anything in life there are people who forget where they started from. I have started on the share market with an open attitude and have only invested with money that I am willing to loose. It has changed the way I think and has also reformed me from gambling on the horses which I use the money that I dont spend on them to invest. At least at the end of the day I am not left with nothing in my pocket wheras with shares you still get the emotional rollercoaster but you potentially dont loose everything in one day. I am in it for the long hall but will take profit and stop losses as per a lot of your comments on the way, hopefully building a nice portfolio over time.
