Maybe you are correct Hot. There are certainly plenty charlatans around that have made their way to CE or even PM (maybe moreso - Feck look at that reputable character that ascended to Mayor of Auburn, Sydney OH DEAR).
However I am comfy with this team to be honest.
I know for a fact that the CE of the company I work for is very focused on delivering success which in turn benefits shareholders. Maybe its an industry/personality thing. If so I would think that FAR being in the engineering related field would also be dinky di.
