I think the scenario could play out that COP take out Cairn, but leave FAR in to manage government relationships and further aquistions etc. Cairn look like they like to build value around assets and then sell. Thus they have so much cash.
FAR have exceptional relationships and understanding of the African continent.
just dreaming of the best case sensation here...
