I had LIPO RC cars too. Unimaginable acceleration and speed!
Aptly and ironically, I was spending too much on new cells as they kept puffing between uses due to cell variations and sporadic use. Cost a mint to keep replacing a cell all the time. I also had to charge them in a cinder block bunker incase they went up in an inferno.
Anywho, switched to nitro. Instant refuel. 100% realistic torque curve. No fires / explosions than cant be put out. No long term storage prep like dropping cells to 2.5V and balancing. Just empty and two drops of Dot 3, pulls starter twice and store. Voila.
A very relevant comparison ;-) LIPO RC vs Nitro. So many fires, so many expensive cell replacements. So fussy cells with issues with temp, too much volts, too little volts, etc
