I discovered it by accident when I dropped a boiled egg and the shell smashed.
I had a "lightbulb" moment and thought if I just rolled it around a bit more and smashed the whole shell it would all come off easier than picking at it. The interior is rubbery after all once it is hard boiled.
It worked and I haven't looked back.
