Stock market "punters" can lose all their savings in a downturn, but with the power of leverage; property "punters" can lose a whole lot more than just their savings.

Its the other way round. You can leverage stocks / options / fx / cfd's.... housing you need to stump up the money... the only thing you can lose is your money + whatever you used as collateral
