re: what's the story?katy katy
u did nothing wrong. If FCN are worried about what is in the email, and then contacted Hot Copper regarding it...that is an issue for them to deal with. Most probably, Hot Copper have acted prudently in removing it to mitigate any POTENTIAL accusations of inappropriate communications outside the auspices of the ASX (this might have been worrying Falcon).
These are just assumptions on my part, but I can understand it, if that is why the post was pulled...and also for FCN's sake.
Look...I think the FCN management are okay, and honest in their intentions. I remember Kerry harmanis getting very upset recently with analysts sticking their noses in about compliance matters and he basically gave them a gobful...so, there is some sensitivity about and that may have come into play here.
The bottom line is that Mottram and FCN, in my opinion, are trying to get on with the job and I think there was quite a bit of panic selling either side of the Australia Day weekend on this one. Those people obviously have short term trading horizons, and it is entirely their perogative to do so. In the rush to the exits though, they have probably hurt each other a bit by the collective volume of their sales orders. Longer termers like vespasion et al who seem to understand the project better will simply ignore this blip and allow FCN to get on with defining the length & breadth of the resource.
Unless their is a gigantic scam going on (and there couldn't be given WMC and now BHP management are involved as majority owners, not to mention JBM), one would have to feel that Fat Prophets and others are right in their assessment of the long term potential.
I really think the sell-off has been overdone, but these things happen in the share market but people who understand why they invested in FCN in the 1st place won't be giving up just yet. But...as I say...its a different matter for Traders - they are entitled to assess their own positions and seek greener pastures. Those left behind - the long termers - can shrug off this short term disappointment and simply allow FCN management to get on with the business of running their business.
