Many towns have no-go areas. Sure, they shouldn't be like that but it's a fact. So it is wise to avoid them - only an idiot would suggest otherwise.
Save your ire for the magistrates and judges who hand out pathetic sentences for minor assaults, giving no deterrent for major ones like king hits. Not hammering someone who acknowledges the danger and gives sane advice.
