yep rules.... I understand that any political party needs to have consistency in messaging. that all who sign onto the party platform should agree to comply with group decisions.
yet my point above is how this detracts from democracy, the right of the individual to express their own opinion. if such expression is predicated on personal opinion and not the party line then surely each should have the right to express disagreement with the Party. such shouldn't be a death knell for dissidents.
unity is strength, but equally unity is death of freedom.
the Libs aren't so different. Bridget Archer has suffered bullying from her acts of dissent. group opinion is against her and now she's seen next to every political leader but her own (see last nights ABC news report).
