Geology and Mineralisation
The Tenements lie within the Archaean Plutonic Well Greenstone Belt which trends north east
within the Marymia Inlier. Gold mineralisation occurs in a large number of deposits and prospects
`within the belt, with the main known deposit being Barrick Golds Plutonic Gold Mine (13km NE of
E52/2480). Much of the prospective geological structures associated with the neighbouring gold
deposits are obscured by transported cover, resulting in little previous exploration. Significant,
widespread gold and arsenic lag anomalies, identified on what is now E52/2482, have never been
properly explored or explained.
