Firstly, there have been several attempts to make vaccines for corona virus in the last 20 years. None of them were successful.
Secondly, the quickest a vaccine for anything has been available is four years. All these estimates of 12-18 months are extremely optimistic. possibly marketing spin from the developers. Not sure where you got your 7 month figure from.
The likelihood is that this virus will just hang around, changing a bit each year like the flu virus. Fortunately, most of the mutations tend to make viruses weaker, so while it will still infect people, the consequences will be less severe.
This being the case, international travel (except NZ) is unlikely for some time. Even #scottyfrommarketing said recently that international travel was not even on the agenda.
