    You can say that again. The destroyers of coffee are heat, light, air and moisture. You should store coffee in a cool, dark dry place in an airtight container. Coffee is porous. In the fridge/freezer it will a sorb moisture and the flavours of your fridge.
    The essential oils in beans are reduced when stored in the fridge/freezer and will inhibit the flavour when ground. It's also best to grind what you can use in a short period of time. We don't precut a cake we are going to eat tomorrow today.
    If it was a refrigerated product we would be buying it in the deli section at the shops. Only store it in the fridge if you are doing a science experiment to see how quick you can ruin perfectly good coffee.
