favourite gigs & most missed venues

I'm sure you all have your favourite musical moments at venues that are no longer with us..

    1983.
INXS new years eve party at the Mosman Hotel.
Supported by Sandi & The Sunsets.
The Swing was just about to be released and there was quite a bit of expectation associated with the new album.
There was no more than 200 people there.
One of those special evenings when the audience was polite ( excuse me but your standing on my foot instead of a beer glass thrown at your head ) and the music was great.
The band was vibed by recently working with Nile Rogers ( of CHIC fame - Le Freak.) on Original Sin.
I remember listening to the Lyrics of Johnson Aeroplane for the first time.."Heart shaped hedges, Japanese Gardens"..and after seeing Sandi &The Sunsets was wondering what all the Japanese references were about.
Original Sin later had the clip shot in Japan with the lit up trucks with Michael on a motorbike.
    Never did find out.
    Great night.
    Great Venue.
The band room had years of graffiti all over the walls...
If it still existed the Powerhouse Museum would probably want it.
    Over to you...
