    if you are running windows xp...a free resizer from microsoft is available...looks easy to run

    warning...it has known compatibility issues....it is not supported by microsoft...
    but I have installed it anyway to see if I can make it work
    on windows 7.....

    but good news....I inadvertently found I can easily resize images from the free 'paint program running on my machine....
    daah... I am a dummy sometimes
    heres the link to paint... **but note it does not support RAW images

    It supports common image formats--JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and others--but not high-resolution RAW files
