Perhaps the real Q is would Fuzzy be a politician without Lynas?
She stumbled on the issue while campaigning in her 2011 attempt to be elected attending a Chinese Christian church where she found concern stemming from Mitsubishi ill fated efforts to extract RE from monazite tin wastes.
Having seized on the opportunity it really went nowhere outside the local Chinese media, until Fukushima instantly created the fear she needed to create an issue.
Without Lynas she would just have remained a very ordinary cook.
