The laws exist to maintain reasonable behavior. Lots of people push boundaries every day but Trump got in a large taxpayer funded bullet proof limo and drove over the boundary, built a series of Trump towers on the other side, had a bunch of his family and mates over to run the illegal operation, employed a bunch of illegal immigrants to provide cheap labour and then stood there clearly on the wrong side whilst giving the middle finger to both law enforcement and the every day person whilst chanting "i'm exempt form the rules".

but he is not in court for any of that so all of that is irrelevant. there is a greater play here - if they get trump they will send the message that no one is untouchable. on the whole this is a miscarriage of justice and the legal machine has been weaponised
