    Launched on Tuesday 5 October 2021, The Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP) will be a technological hub that will support growth and innovation in WA’s economy into the future.

    A 51ha former limestone quarry, the area is being delivered by DevelopmentWA’s Industrial Lands Authority and will be converted into a world leading facility.

    The AARP will play a critical role in diversifying and supporting collaboration between traditional and emerging industries and bringing together leaders in the field of automation and robotics.

    It will further enhance the State’s position as a world leader in the field of automation and robotics, with a focus on building relationships with major stakeholders and other similar facilities across Australia and around the world.

    It will see the creation of a globally linked and locally relevant test facility for new technologies.

    Phase 1 construction on the AARP will include:
    o Common User Test Beds, with multiple test bed areas and roadways for physical testing;
    o A Common User Facility operation building

    The AARP is anticipated to generate 70 jobs during the construction, with up to 5,000 ongoing jobs to be created in research and development once it is complete, and over the decades to come.

    The site has the potential to expand to 94ha to accommodate future growth over the next three decades, ensuring it’s able to grow with industry as these emerging sectors gather momentum.

    The dynamic nature of the facility will ensure Western Australian industries are equipped to capitalise on emerging trends and adapt to the changing industrial environment.
