Expected route and schedule timing of storm :
the ship is in front of panama:
it takes approximately 10 hours to get through the panama canal
So let's say monday it is in the Caribbean sea it might be able to outrun the storm but i think it's company policy to wait in calm waters if they can't outrun a life threatening storm.
