I thought I would do an experiment after seeing a traffic light at the end of a long arm over a road - the light was swaying considerably in modest wind - the arm may have been 15m long. So I was wondering about the Hadrian's 32m arm carrying multiple 40kg blocks, placing them with mm precision. How good is that?
To check it out I taped a pen at the end of a 1.5m broom stick and then tried to write a few words. Honestly, see pic below - this is the best I could do - I could not write any smaller. Try it yourself.
