These events are all adding to the FBR story - how they weathered the GFC, then covid, then hurricanes during the Florida debut. The company weathers all storms, like a block wall held together by adhesive.
I never saw those wedges on any of the Perth builds, but I believe they kept using the same team of slab-layers, who understood FBR's requirements. FBR was also able to give them some technical help for getting a level slab. In any case, the last build with wedges passed codes, so it's obviously nothing to lose sleep over. Moving away from mortar, which is forgiving of rough surfaces, we will see more attention given to level slabs and rectified blocks. We already know it's doable at a slightly higher cost.
