Possibly.
But shareholders should hope so, because if not, the odds of the company earning its way back into the market's favour are negligible. Well, not for the foreseeable future, anyway.
In other words, takeover potential is the sole reason to own this stock.
I don't observe that to be an investment strategy that works more often than it doesn't.
