Regarding the debate above about whether or not BIT225 could cure Long Covid, let's all hope that the question becomes irrelevant when Long Covid never established because the virus is stopped at Short Covid......... and if BIT225 was to be successful and commercialized, then this would follow.
In the meantime, the quote form above begins to answer the question:
In other words, Long Covid is caused from the initial infection, and not the latent infection, so if long covid occurs, it means that any later eradication of lingering virus is not going to stop LC; too late. But no one would argue that not eradicating latent virus is not welcome, so yes, hopefully BIT225 would be purposeful in LC.
This is a little different from HIV, where if the latent virus is activated, often when ART is stopped, then HIV progression or AIDS can develop. Hopefully 225 will bring an end to this by removing the latent virus. Some adverse conditions caused from HIV though could continue.
With LC, the adverse conditions will have to be treated accordingly.
So the short answer to the question whether 225 will cure LC, is probably, no, but will benefit the patient by eradicating latent virus (hopefully).
Lastly, like where we begun, LC will become a thing of the past once an adequate antiviral is produced that stops or prevents SC.
