We are pleased to share the following information in response to your questions. We would also draw your attention to previous investor presentations, available at echoiq.ai as well as invite you to join any upcoming webinars.

Question 1

ECHO IQ has an exclusive right of access to the National Echo Database of Australia's data to use the echocardiographic measurement and text output data for development of and commercialisation of AI algorithms related to echocardiography.

Generating this data across multiple sites is no easy feat and will be difficult to replicate. Additionally, NEDA Ltd has access to mortality data which enhances the validation of our trained AI models.

Question 2

Echo IQ has specifically lodged an international patent application for our AI-phenotype for aortic stenosis. Priority lodgement for this occurred in 2022 and it was filed in 2023. It was published in early 2024. The process is lengthy but we are now fairly well advanced in this.

This patent is designed precisely to protect the way we use AI to improve detection of specific forms of structural heart disease. It does not prevent companies from using AI for other uses in cardiology or echocardiography, such as improving workflow or patient record handling.

We have also made a priority lodgement (late 2023) for our new AI-algorithm for heart failure which will proceed along similar lines.

Question 3

AI is becoming more widely used in healthcare. GE Healthcare, as you mention, is one such company. Their AI in ultrasound appears to be focused on helping sonographers obtain better quality echocardiograms. Echo IQ uses AI to perform better quality assessments for decision support in relation to diagnosis (which is currently unavailable) or reviews of these echocardiograms. It's a significantly different approach and use case.
