It sounds bad but what slider says actually does go through my head from time to time. Reason being: The world gives billions to charities every year to fight different diseases, not a single charity has really contributed to curing any. In the last 10 years what have we really cured?

Big pharmas will occasionally cure something that kills 1 million odd people a year in a 3rd world country as a PR boost (like polio/malaria)but the big killers have the most charities and theres never any real progress.

I hope he is drastically wrong, if BLT is proven a success and nobody ever commercialises the technology to the masses then i guess theres a possibility he was right...
