Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

    13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
    14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
    (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

    As we know the Fear of God is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7) and the Ten Commandments were known and obeyed by faithful people before the law was given at Sinai. Later incorporated into the new covenant, they constitute the basic moral code for humanity (as further explained by Jesus) and are obeyed to demonstrate the believer’s love for God and his fellow man.

    368 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
    379 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
    3810 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
    3911 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
    40(1 Timothy 1:8-11)
    41
    4217 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
    4318 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
    4419 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
    4520 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
    4621 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
    4722 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
    4823 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
    4924 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
    5025 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
    5126 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
    5227 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
    5328 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
    5429 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
    5530 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
    5631 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
    5732 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
    5833 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
    5934 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
    6035 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
    6136 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
    6237 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
    6338 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
    6439 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
    6540 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

    6742 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
    6843 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
    6944 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
    7045 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
    7146 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
    7247 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
    7348 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
    74(Matthew 5:17-48)
    75
    7621 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
    7722 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
    7823 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
    7924 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
    8025 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
    8126 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
    8227 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
    83(James 1:21-27)
    84
    8526 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
    8627 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
    8728 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
    8829 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
    8930 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
    9031 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
    91(Hebrews 10:26-31)
    92
    934 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
    945 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
    956 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
    96(Hebrews 6:4-6)
