it should come as a big surprise (and relief) that gautama was not a buddhist

1. each religion considers itself the path to the highest state of man
so now religion is able to consider things for itself?
this ludicrous concept has now become a conscious thinking being - hardly surprising
2. religion always refers to the state of union with the highest thing or summum bonum
make up your mind,
is it "each religion" (from 1) or is it "religion" (from 2)
your usage of words have resulted in contradictions
on one hand you say that there is more than one religion, and on the other you say that there is only one.
some call satanism a religion
same with voodoo, spirit possession and spiritism
some make a bottle of booze into a religion, and a god
thus your statement:

is naturally undefinable and nonsensical
