Can the baby even get an Australian passport or residence visa? With the heart issue, and the Down's….I'm not sure. They seem to be pretty picky with health issues for migrants. Some migrants. If you want to import your Lebanese grandmother from the Bekaa valley…who is deaf, half-blind, arthritic, and halfway thru heart failure - she can come. But if your British….with asthma….Don't like your chances….
Hmmm….for what it's worth. I used to work many years ago west of Perth city, in a leafy western suburb. So I took the bus - actually a couple buses…3 to be exact. My final bus used to stop and pick up several young people with Down's who were on the way to their job. They would be in their late teens and early to mid 20's. Just the happiest and friendliest young folk I have ever seen in Australia. Always had a smile and a greeting, happy to talk, brightened up the morning. Even the bus driver was very glad to see them!
