Hi Monsters, yes certainly wouldn't want to be building gigafactories just to try and sell your graphite, by the time you get them built and up to full production it's likely the anode won't be graphite, the weakest part of the Battery seems to be the graphite anode.

But for the next 5-8 years it's likely to be the dominate technology, so if supplying into existing supply chains then the opportunity is still there imho.

Lithium titanate batteries is another technology that is likely to replace Li-ion, trade Off is charge time vs mileage, be interesting to see what consumers prefer, charge up whilst having a coffee, or charge up overnight if you can find a free charging station.

So KNL may have a window of 5-8 years for the battery market, after that I doubt if Li-ion with graphite anode will survive. Certainly glad KNL isn't puting all its eggs in the LI-ion space or looking to build its own gigafactories to place its graphite. Existing supply chains gives the quickest entry to the market without the need for a massive capex commitment and then when the market disappears you aren't stuck with out dated technology.

    All imho of course.

Be interested in others view of what technologies they see replacing Li-ion. Undoubtedly something will.

    Thanks
