Opaline, I'm straying a little off the thread topic but you mentioned the desirability of a DC transmission line to Olympic Dam. Some 18 months ago I attended a shareholder meeting which was around the time when the planned huge expansion of Olympic Dam was made public. I put the question as to how GDY regarded this opportunity.
The response was along the lines that GDY did not particularly want to go down that path as it would mean having to strike some long term supply commitment and be negotiated down to a low price per unit etc. GDY was more attracted to finding a way to get connection to the national grid so to enjoy the benefits of supplying at the much more attractive market rates.
Do you, or others have a view on this?
Personally I go along with striving for the grid connection and establishing the company as a national supplier asap. Further , I think Origin would be attracted to this approach also. Finally, that preference was GDY's opinion back then, 18 months or so ago, they may see it differently now.
