Agree with most of your comments. I would note that the Christchurch earthquake in Q1 2010 (Sept '10) was not the big one, nobody was killed, although some flights were undoubtedly effected.

The big Christchurch earthquake, which killed 181 people and continues to paralyse the city was in Feb 11, so the effect on flights should really be seen in Q2 & Q3.
