No I would not have 700% because of my investment partner the ATO.
Whether I have done the right thing or not is not decided on just one stocks outcome. I have stocks and options that have turned into 0 via bankruptcy or time running out BUT I have multiple others that have gone up 100x and plenty in-between 0 and 100.
The overall maths have me well ahead of taking 700% and sharing a lot of that with the tax man. In addition, I can tax plan and have nil income from other sources in the year I sell thus reducing the ATO's share greatly.
