Another ABC story on the Chaos that has been NAAJA for a year now -

Senior board member announces intention to quit NAAJA following string of controversies 3Sep24
    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-09-03/calls-for-board-of-naaja-aboriginal-legal-service-to-resign/104292156

It is a long article with quotes from many with axes to grind.
thought this quote stood out for HotCopper -
Quote [ "There are a lot of people in jail now who shouldn't be," former NAAJA senior lawyer John Lawrence said.
"There are a lot of people in jail for too long where they shouldn't be that long."]

Perhaps he is exactly wrong -
Maybe NAAJA has over years been getting offenders out of Jail too soon thus endangering victims.

Is there something weird and contrary about
[A] taxpayers funding NT Cops - courts - jails - to make society for law-abiding people --
    then
another Taxpayer funded QUANGO uses legal cunning to cancel the efforts of Taxpayers [A]

Particularly when considered alongside the sky-high levels of ATSI male-on-female violence in the NT
