Well this will not be the case in the future if climate change is not fully addressed, at first we may get more migrants but fewer European or "white people" who will shun the heat as they have always done. But eventually migration will be toward the north pole.

That scenario is a good way off, depending how much we slow down the change, but the perception is probably already have an impact on migration decisions.
