    sooooo lucky, one of the planks of the left in australia has been the "no nukes" policy for 30 years. Remember the old nuclear disarmament party and it was an issue the democrats and the greens used. Its really emotive stuff, so i doubt the left will ever manage to entirely move away from this position.

    But the hard heads and the pragmatists in the left may let mining go on and possibly even enrichment, which seems to make sense as far as value adding is concerned. But i do remember a BHP exec saying a while back it was a no go on economic grounds (I don't know if he was towing the political line of the times or not).

    Still we are very lucky and I wouldn't like to be mining in queensland or WA for u308. Waiting for state approval there could be decades.
