I've done 3 cases on my own. 2 at the county court and one at the supreme court in Vic.

Not a lawyer, but to do your own cases and be successful requires legal know-how and lateral thinking.

I did everything from organising the writ, drafting statement of claim., serving, subpoenas, affidavits, interogetories, drafting questions for my experts.

And dealing with the defence barristers and the judge.

The Last case had 10,000 pages of documents to manage.

The defence barrister thought a barrister had drafted my statement of claim.

I said why did you think that, he said this isn't something a non legal person can generally do like this.

It was a cracker of a case.

Law to understand it, you need to keep it simple and stick to the law that applies for your grievance.

Also if you can run a case on one point that should be done, rather than if you can on 5 or 10 points.

But my background is gold mining, open pit.
