The point is that, in the long term, the West is looking for a workaround, with the goal of not to using Russian gas at all.
I'd have liked to have seen a more overt positioning in the Federal budget - that Australia is pitching to grab Russian (and other) market share as a non-hostile supplier of the world's expanding natural gas needs.
Perhaps this objective is being moved forward in the fine print of "investment in regional Australia", but needs to to hidden from the caterwauling Greens. Surely it's time to argue we need to give peace a chance, to stop funding repressive, O&G financed dictatorships, wherever they are, and their aggressive terror/military machines.
Reality, it may grind slow, but it grinds awfully fine. Western democracies seriously need to stop faking fantasy energy visions, and start connecting to real opportunities for transition to viable, low pollution, solutions like natural gas.
Blue's resources can do that, and do more for world peace that a thousand sing-along demos.
