The federal government is looking into a proposal by the anti-alcohol lobby group....of doubling a beer price including light beers and wine..

Plus a $12 cask of wine would increase to about $45 a cask.......( to reduce alcohol use and damage in the community ) while at the same time reaping the federal government about $2.95 billion extra in tax's and excise.... an putting about $30 back into community related alcohol projects... while the rest goes to internal revenue for the federal government.

This I believe is a bad idea....an is just another revenue grab under the guise of caring about the people and their welfare in the community....

The Alco-pop tax did not solve a thing and just increased revenue for the Federal government and the local states...

If the Liberals bring this in they have lost the next election already and the next one after that as well....

Melbourne is already the 8th dearest place in the world for a beer in US dollars and Sydney is 20th in the world as dearest..
