I appreciate where you're coming from with your view that Murphy "is of the rabid left", and IMO, she doesn't let her political beliefs interferer with her journalism.
I've read and seen her on over many years and she can be equally astute and diligent in her assessments of the Labs. If you doubt this just research her pieces on Rudd and the Lab govt 2007-2010 and again during the election phase of his second PMship, in particular. She also wrote critically on the Gillard PMship but much of this period was coloured by the constant attacks by Abbott so his actions and comments stole much of the attention and criticism.
No-one is perfect hey Meteor, and Murphy too has her flaws and makes errors too. Yet, on the whole, her journalism is of a very high standard and as neutral in tone as I've been able to find.
