    "Damning judgment by Justice Rares"

"Ms Roxon said anyone who read Justice Rares’ judgment would be appalled at the actions of Mr Brough, Mr Ashby and other Liberals."

"Labor MP Graham Perrett said on Monday he had acted in the national interest by asking the Australian Federal Police to examine what role, if any, was played by Liberals including former

    Howard government minister Mal Brough,

    deputy Liberal leader Julie Bishop,

    frontbencher Christopher Pyne and

    Queensland Energy Minister Mark McArdle

in the sexual harassment claim brought by Mr Slipper’s former staffer, James Ashby"

Mr Perrett alleged in his letter that a conspiracy, including fabricated sexual harassment claims by Mr Ashby, had been designed to force a by-election in Mr Slipper’s seat.

Mr Brough is the LNP’s candidate in Mr Slipper’s seat of Fisher and if elected, the balance of power in the House of Representatives would change, potentially leading to the fall of the government.

Mr Ashby’s claim against Mr Slipper was dismissed by Justice Steven Rares on December 12, with the judge finding the case was designed to deliver personal and political gain.
