Federal Renewable Energy Program Launched at Carnegie Facility
Wave Energy developer Carnegie Corporation Limited (ASX: CNM) is pleased to advise that the
Australian Federal Government’s $435 million Renewable Energy Demonstration Program
(“REDP”) was launched today by the Federal Minister for Energy, Martin Ferguson, at Carnegie
Corporation’s Wave Energy Research Facility in Fremantle, Western Australia.
The fund is targeted at providing capital grants for the commercial demonstration of new
renewable technologies.
Carnegie Corporation Managing Director Dr Michael Ottaviano said: “Carnegie is encouraged by
the support that this fund offers to the developers of emerging new renewable technologies like
wave energy. Wave energy is one of the few renewable resources that has the potential to deliver
baseload power across Australia on a large scale.”
Carnegie intends to submit an application under the REDP fund for its commercial demonstration
project.
