"True, victims cannot laugh or have fun in the short term, it is a time of great sadness and no one should expect them to forget but time IS a healer. Remember tragedies happen every day."

Geo, i do appreciate your reply and that you acknowledged the victims families. I am not that "tragedies happen every day" really cuts it. You can't say, "oh well, she suffered a horrific death, but it wasn't as bad as .......".

People use statistics about the death penalty not being a deterrent. Being a deterrent is just one part of this form of punishment. If the appeals system were streamlined, it could be a more swift, more financially viable form of punishment. And even though there are the isolated cases where victim's families oppose the form of punishment, on the whole, their families believe it is the most just form of punishment.

The Tate and Le Bianca families have had to endure the torture of pleading with parole every year for their lives to ensure justice is served. They have always claimed that people seem to sympathise more for the perpetrators than their 8 1/2 month pregnant daughter. They have dedicated their lives to ensuring these animals are never to leave prison. Is this fair? Should they even have to front a court to plead with people to remember their daughter and parents. The system is a joke!
